Derrick Ling aka D-Teflon has spoken at various highschools and promote awarness in USA & Canada speaking to young people the importance of being kind to one another and is also in 2010 became an active spokesperson of the Trevor Project Foundation to prevent the death of teens due to gay-teen suicide and teamed up with Actor Sean Kanan from the Young & The Restless with the ADL to make a stand against bullying in schools.

When not on the road working D-Teflon volunteers his times working with the Make a Wish & Star Light Foundation helping grant wishes to special needs and kids at Sick Kids Hosptial to make there dreams come true.

D-Teflon is a legendary pioneer in the biz since 1991 first entering into the entertainment industry works running the front lines of the AE Group handling various duties working as a club manager & concert events promotional & security director.

D-Teflon entered the nightclub entertainment industry in the early 90's under the mentorship of radio personalities Chris Sheppherd,Bobby Clarke Deadly Hedley & the late DJ Fran to learn the ropes of the nightlife industry.

Ling who at the time after spending several years on the street in and out of trouble at the time with the law decided to turn his life around after he was convinced by the three to start working with them after being spotted for his talent as a street dancer was offered a job as a as a Go-Go Dancer at one of the biggest clubs in the city RPM.

DTeflon began taking private classes & began studying the art of hip hop and tap and jazz and worked as a dance choregrapher teaching private classes to other enspring dancers during the day & worked at night as a Go-Go exotic dancer for various clubs & holding various positions from bartender to security which eventually would land him a promotion to be one of the first ever black nightclub managers in the city.

With his numerous contacts & relationships with some of hollywood's elite he is known as the go to guy for the stars when they are visiting Toronto & Las Vegas & has pretty much done everything there is to do in the nightlife industry from working mc,security to nightclub promoter,events co-ordinator,club manager,cook,bartender

DTEFLON SET'S HIS EYES ON HOLLYWOOD AFTER FACING NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE

In Summer of 98 after coming back from a near death situation where D-Teflon was almost fatally stabbed working at a nightclub and was shot at and witness a co-worker and close friend Howard Gairy was murdered on the job in front of him on Aug 13 2000.

After both near death experiences most people close to him pressured D-Teflon to quit the biz but he was not going to be stopped from reaching his goals so he decided to relocate for a brief stint to Los Angeles to see what the city was all about as many people feel that in order to become a star you have to be in L.A .

After seeing the city he decided that in order for him to accomplish his goals he needed to stay focused and not get caught up in the artifical world that can sometimes be in Hollywood so he decided that he wanted to prove the doubters wrong & prove that it doesn't matter what city you are from if you have the dedication to be the best you can make it from anywhere.

In 1999 deciding he needed to take his expertise to the next level he moved to Daytona Beach Florida after a friend offered him a job and quickly started working doing personal security in the Hip Hop Scene working with BET on there Spring Bling tours in Florida & NYC for stars such as Melyssa Ford,Big Tigger,Ray J.

DTeflon entered into the Hollywood scene after leaving Daytona and moving to Los Angeles in 2001 & upon his arrival he immediatley waisted no time in making a mark right into the Hollywood Circuit

D-Teflon first job started when he worked as an assistant and intern and later became friends with legendary Director Sydney Pollack & then just when he thought he couldn't have it any better he was then employed by 2 of the top film companies in the film industry as a security director while working at an event for Actor Mark Walhberg he met 2 of Hollywood's Top Film Producers C.E.O Randall Emmett of EFF Films & Avi Lerner of Millienium Films.
