Alliance Entertainment exclusive celebrity photographer, George Pimentel from Flare, Instyle and WireImage Magazines.George Pimentel is regarded as Canada's most renowned celebrity photographer. He is a third-generation photographer, the grandson of a portrait photographer who made his livelihood in the small village of Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores. Born and raised in Toronto, Pimentel began working at his father's photo studio on Dundas St. in “Little Portugal” at the age of 9. He went on to study Photo Arts at Ryerson University, graduating with an Honours BA.

His ambition lead him to his first career break when he snuck on to the red carpet to photograph Robert De Niro at the Toronto Film Festival in 1993. He recalls: “I took my first celebrity photo of Robert De Niro, and ever since then, it’s been my passion. I don’t interfere in their business and I never hassle anyone. I just manage to capture the stars in their element.”

From Toronto to Hollywood, he has photographed A-list stars such as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Madonna, Nelly Furtado and Johnny Depp. He regularly attends the most prominent film festivals in the world: Toronto, Cannes, Sundance, Venice and Rome. In addition, he has covered events such as the Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmys, and Junos. From Celebrities to world leaders to His Holiness John Paul II, he has enjoyed unprecedented access to major entertainment and political figures of our time.

Pimentel has been the main Canadian contributing photographer for WireImage, the largest celebrity photo agency in the world. His work appears regularly on countless covers and in publications such as People, US Weekly, and Rolling Stone. His 15-year dedication to “Flare Was There” , Canada’s Flare Magazine, and his weekly contribution to Hello Canada Magazine has helped build his presence and popularity to the point where he is now annually requested to shoot the OneXOne Event, Vanity Fair Oscar Party, InStyle Party and AMPHAR.

Although his job may take him all over the world, he still works out of the studio where it all began in Little Portugal.
